Today’s Big D boys’ semifinals to set the stage for Friday’s PSL basketball championship doubleheader at U-D Mercy

In the Big D girls’ basketball tournament semifinals Monday (Feb. 11) at Western International High School, Cass Tech (16-0) defeated Pershing (10-4) 54-42 and No. 1 state-ranked King (16-0) walloped Renaissance (12-5) 51-27 to set up a battle of unbeatens for the PSL championship Friday (Feb. 15) at 5 p.m. at University of Detroit Mercy Calihan Hall.

The focus shifts to the boys’ semifinals today (Feb. 12) at Cass Tech High School where Southeastern (14-3) meets Cass Tech (15-1) at 5:30 p.m., and Douglass (11-5) collides with unbeaten and No. 1 state-ranked Pershing (17-0) at 7 p.m

The boys’ semifinal winners will meet at 7:30 p.m. Friday (Feb. 15) in the second game of a PSL championship doubleheader at Calihan Hall, where this year’s Mr. PSL and Miss PSL honorees will be announced during halftime ceremonies.
