Medicine and Community Health Academy at Cody held a Pinning and White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2013, the academy’s first graduating class

Parents, teachers, staff and administrators were on hand Thursday, January 31, 2013  for the Pinning and White Coat Ceremony for the Class of 2013, the first graduating class of Medicine and Community Health Academy at Cody.

This ceremony, traditionally conducted at US medical schools, is a “rite of passage” to welcome students to the medical profession.  The ceremony recognized the 120 students’ accomplishments of the past 3 ½ years and marked the beginning of the busiest part of the students’ senior year.

Dr. Denise Maybank, Interim VP of Student Affairs of Michigan State University and Dr. Herman Gray, President of Children’s Hospital of Michigan, along with other Friends of MCH, were on hand to bring messages of wisdom and encouragement to students.
