The highly-anticipated Detroit Public School League boys’ basketball game between No. 1-ranked Pershing and top contender Southeastern will be played Friday at 4 p.m. at Southeastern High School. The game was originally scheduled to be held at Pershing.
The Doughboys (10-0 overall) and Jungaleers (8-2 overall) are two of the state’s better teams and are tied for first place in the PSL East with 4-0 league records. The girls’ game between the Doughgirls (3-1 league) and the Lady Jungaleers (1-3) will follow the boys at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5.
Cody and Mumford were to play a PSL West game Friday at Mumford High, but that game will be played instead at Douglass High School. The boys tip off Friday at 4 p.m. followed by the girls at 5:30 p.m., and no spectators except parents will be allowed in attendance.
