DPS Adult Ed and Southeastern Health Department partner for wraparound services!

A partnership was forged between Detroit Public Schools’ Adult Education Program and the Southeastern Health Department to provide wraparound services for the Adult Education East Campus participants.

Providing such services supports the improvement of participant retention rates by addressing a number of concerns, such as health issues, said Mark Carter, Administrator-in-Charge of the Adult Education East Campus. The Dental Mobile Unit is staffed by the University of Detroit’s School of Dentistry student volunteers.

The following services were offered: cleanings, fillings and extractions. Continuing the wraparound services of the Southeastern Health Department, the Optical Mobile Unit will service the participants of the Adult Education East Campus for their optical needs in January of 2013.
