Ben Carson continues the “No Soda Pop” campaign

Dr. Benjamin Carson High School of Science and Medicine students on October 31 pledged to join DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital President and CEO Reginald Eadie in asking the public to say no to soda pop during the month of November.

After hearing a presentation and evidence from Dr. Eadie that soda pop is one of the leading causes of diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cancer, Carson students overwhelmingly pledged to stop drinking pop and other sugary drinks.

To help get the word out about the harmful effects of soda pop, Carson student ambassadors will present at other Detroit Public Schools, nursing homes and community venues to encourage people to “say no to soda pop” during the month of November, and they will take part in the formal kick-off of the campaign.
