Hundreds of Detroit Public Schools Pre-K students enjoyed a free evening of fun, food and entertainment during the 2nd Annual PNC Grow Up Great Family Fun Night, held Thursday, October 11, at The Parade Company.
Participating students are enrolled in PNC’s early childhood initiative, Grow Up Great, a multi-year, $350 million bilingual program to improve early childhood education.
The invitation-only event allowed students to participate in a variety of hands-on activities, including face painting provided by Princess Get-A-Ways Resort, an Arts ad Scraps craft area, coloring pages area and painting of the PNC papier-mâché piece that was created last Parade season.
DPS Superintendent of Academics Karen Ridgeway joined PNC Bank Regional President Ric DeVore, Parade Company President & CEO Tony Michaels, Detroit Public Schools Foundation President Glenda Price, and hundreds of DPS Grow Up Great Pre-K students for the event.
