Cass Tech’s Tripp, Renaissance’s Spivey win season’s first PSL cross country meet

Cass Tech senior Jermaine Tripp ran the 5,000-meter Belle Isle course in 19:24.28 to win the boys’ race and Renaissance junior Leah Spivey timed 23:13.986 to win the girls’ race last Tuesday (Sept. 11) in the first Detroit Public School League cross country jamboree meet of the season.

Cass Tech’s Jermaine Tripp

Cass Tech led East Division boys’ teams with 36 points, while Renaissance boys’ led the West Divsion with 64 points. The top girls’ teams were Renaissance in the West with 34 points and Pershing in the East with 87 points.
