The group also conducted physical and biological surveys with the assistance of two college interns from Wayne State University, and two environmental engineers from the Romulus GM Engine Operations who volunteered their time.
Clippert was able to participate in this project through a sponsorship by HAP (Health Alliance Plan) through the Friends of the Rouge.
Wayne County RESA (Regional Educational Service Agency) funded the school’s transportation.
Friends of the Rouge also celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Clippert Academy student Christina Cervantes was the 25th Anniversary REP (Rouge Education Project) T-Shirt Contest Winner in early January.
