The Joyce Ivy Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to the academic advancement of high-potential female high school students, announced the names of seventy young women receiving 2012 summer scholarships for pre-college study at top colleges and universities.
This year’s class of Joyce Ivy Foundation Summer Scholars emerged from among a record number of applicants from throughout the Midwest, mirroring the increased numbers of applications for full-time study at leading universities and colleges nationwide. Chrisdalyia Howard of Crockett High School was named as one of the scholars.
Celebrating its seventh year, the Joyce Ivy Foundation provides partial and full scholarships for pre-college summer study at Ivy League and equivalent campuses. Pre-college programs at these institutions provide valuable and broadening experiences to high school students aspiring to earn an undergraduate acceptance at a highly competitive college or university.
