Big D boys’ and girls’ finals to be an all-Pershing vs. King affair

Fans jam the stands at Renaissance High for the Big D boys' basketball semifinals

In the semifinals of the Big D boys’ basketball tournament Tuesday at Renaissance High School, a capacity crowd saw Pershing defeat Southeastern 76-65 and King beat Crockett 69-67 to set up an all King vs. Pershing Detroit Public School League basketball championship doubleheader Thursday at the University of Detroit Mercy’s Calihan Hall.
The same two schools will wage battle for the PSL girls’ and boys’ championships, with the girls tipping off at 5 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 and tickets can be purchased in advance at the Calihan Hall box office
