Cody Medicine and Community Health students experienced first annual health care conference with experts from Children’s Hospital of Michigan

Experts from Children’s Hospital of Michigan met with Cody Medicine and Community Health High School students on Tuesday, April 12, 2011, for the school’s First Annual Health Care Conference to expose them to a wide array of career choices in the health care field.

Children’s Hospital of Michigan doctors, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, finance experts, health information technologists and health administrators gave insight on what’s it’s like to work in an academic medical center designed for children. Students heard about how to prepare to enter fields that interest them. This is part of a social studies service learning project that requires students to connect curriculum with community needs.
