Class A district boys’ basketball games moved from Cass Tech to King High

The boys’ basketball Class A district semifinal games that were scheduled for Wednesday at Cass Tech High School will be held today at King High School.
In an all-Detroit Public School League doubleheader, Cass Tech will face Southeastern at 4 p.m. followed by King against Western at 5:30 p.m. The winners advance to the district title game, slated for 6 p.m. Friday at Cass Tech.
In the boys’ Class A district tournament at Pershing High, the host Doughboys advanced Wednesday with a 102-45 rout of Hamtramck, while Cody survived a scare against PSL rival Denby 54-51. Pershing and Cody play at 5 p.m. Friday at Pershing for the district title.
Three PSL girls’ teams will be in action tonight in Class A regional championship games. At Warren Fitzgerald High School, Pershing and King will square off at 6 p.m., while Renaissance will play Auburn Hills Avondale in the 7 p.m. regional final at Waterford Kettering High School. On Tuesday, Pershing’s girls defeated host Warren Fitzgerald 62-61 and King routed Livonia Ladywood 61-44. Renaissance won its regional opener Tuesday in an overtime thriller, 47-46, against Southfield Lathrup.
Today’s girls’ winners will advance into next week’s Class A state quarterfinals.
