Golightly CTC a finalist for Station/Program of the Year

The Mass Media Program at Golightly Career and Technical Center who has been named as a finalist for the “Station/Program of the Year” by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation.  The Mass Media Program became eligible for the title when students picked up 10 awards in the 2011 Michigan High School and College Broadcast Awards in various radio and television categories.

Although the program receives recognition from the MABF yearly, it has not qualified for the Station/Program of the Year award since the 1999-2000 school year.  Mass Media student Jalen Dann will receive a $750 High School Broadcast Scholarship.  He will be attending Michigan State University this fall to study Broadcast Journalism.

The Station/Program of the Year and all broadcast awards will be presented during the “Main Luncheon” at the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference & Expo on Wednesday, March 9 at The Lansing Center in Lansing, Michigan.
