PSL ‘Big D’ boys’ basketball tournament quarterfinals Friday at Cass Tech and Renaissance High; girls’ semis 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday

The Detroit Public School League “Big D” boys’ basketball tournament quarterfinals will be contested Friday (Feb. 11) with doubleheaders at Cass Tech High and Renaissance High.
In the East Division, Douglass plays King at 4 p.m. and Crockett plays top-seeded and league unbeaten Southeastern at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be at Cass Tech (instead of Osborn High as previously announced). In the West Division quarterfinals at Renaissance High, No. 2 seed Mumford plays Ford at 4 p.m. and Cass Tech plays top-seeded and league unbeaten Cody at 5:30 p.m.
Friday’s winners advance to the “Big D” boys’ semifinals Tuesday (Feb. 15) at Cass Tech High. Cass Tech is also site of the boys’ 5 p.m. consolation and 7:30 p.m. championship games on Friday, Feb. 18.
The semifinals for the “Big D” girls’ tournament are Monday and will also be at Cass Tech High (instead of Osborn as previously scheduled). In the West Division, league unbeaten Renaissance, the two-time defending PSL girls’ champions, will play Mumford at 5 p.m., while East-leading Pershing, the league’s only unbeaten team overall, takes on King at 7:30 p.m. The girls’ 5 p.m. consolation and 7:30 p.m. championship games will be Thursday, Feb. 17 at Renaissance High.
