Booker’s 46 leads Renaissance to PSL girls’ golf title

Renaissance High freshman Evette Booker shot a nine-hole score of 46 to capture medalist honors in leading the Phoenix to the Detroit Public School League girls’ golf championship Wednesday at Palmer Park.
Coach Harry Kennedy’s top four golfers shot a 270 to earn Renaissance the team title. Cass Tech finished second with 278 followed by King 280, Central 281, Southeastern 282, CMA 290, Cody 296, Denby 305, Northwestern 315 and Mumford 320.
Booker, who has been playing golf since she was five-years-old, topped a field of 83 girls from 15 PSL schools.
