Detroit Public Schools’ summer school classes will release at noon today, July 23, due to a heat wave. Lunch will still be provided at school sites, and transportation will be adjusted accordingly.

Students on field trips will be dismissed upon return to the buildings.

With regard to the shortened day for summer school for students today, staff members within the following collective bargaining units (DFT, Paraprofessionals, DAEOE members) are advised that they are allowed to also depart at noon UNLESS they are participating in a previously scheduled professional development activity at the school.

Other staff should remain.
