Detroit Public Schools is seeking qualified vendors to provide academic enrichment, tutoring and other services as part of the federal Title I program for the 2010-2011 school year.

Title I is a federal program designed to close the achievement gap by helping economically disadvantaged students meet state standards in core academic content areas. It is the district’s largest source of federal funding.

All qualified vendors and service providers are encouraged to respond by July 30 to the following Requests for Proposals to ensure that the best possible services are made available to DPS students at the beginning of the school year. The first day of classes will be September 7.

– Academic Enrichment Services
– Academic Tutoring
– Parental Involvement Workshops
– Staff Professional Development Workshops

Selected vendors will have the opportunity to enter into contracts with DPS and be pre-approved to provide services to eligible schools. This pre-approval will expedite the procurement process, which will result in DPS providing additional high quality services to students in a timely manner.

The RFPs are available on DemandStar, which can be accessed at www.detroit.k12.mi.us/admin/finance/cp/. All potential vendors that are not currently under contract with the district are encouraged to participate.
