For the first time ever, Detroit Public Schools will auction off hundreds of pieces of surplus commercial and industrial kitchen equipment on Saturday June 5, 2010.
Doors open at 8 a.m. for bidder registration and viewing and the auction will begin at 10 a.m. The event, which is open to the public, will be held at the DPS Support Services Complex-Building A, 1425 E. Warren Ave., Detroit.
The sale is a total liquidation and every item must go. Bargain hunters can bid on ovens, stoves, refrigerators, warmers, mixers, ice makers, and much more.
The kitchen equipment auction follows a large auto auction last month. More than 500 people bid on cars, buses, trucks and construction equipment. The district sold 104 of the 112 vehicles put up for bid, bringing in a net profit of $153,711.
The items in Saturday’s auction may be paid for with cash, cashier’s check, money order or company check with a bank’s letter of guarantee. No personal checks, debits or charges will be accepted.
