Target and its nonprofit partner, The Heart of America Foundation, announced today that Mark Twain School will receive a complete library makeover this year.

Mark Twain, 12800 Visger Street, will be one of 32 schools nationwide that will receive new furniture, technology, flooring and shelves, as well as light renovations and an eco-friendly design from Target and its nonprofit partner, The Heart of America Foundation.

In addition to giving the school’s library a makeover, Target will donate 2,000 new books to the library and give each student seven new books to start their very own at-home library. The newly redesigned library will be unveiled this fall.

Among the criteria for consideration:

Sixty-five percent of the student population must be low-income
The school must demonstrate the need for new books, a redesign, renovations, etc.
The school must demonstrate an ability to sustain the new library.
The school must demonstrate its intent to make the space available for community use.
