First DPS’ Huge Vehicle Auction in eight years set for Tuesday at two locations

GOING ONCE. GOING TWICE. SOLD!

Prospective buyers should take that as a sign to not miss out on the Detroit Public Schools’ Huge Vehicle Auction next Tuesday when “Everything Must Go.”

For the first time since 2002, DPS will completely liquidate its obsolete and surplus inventory consisting of cars, buses, trucks of all kinds and construction equipment.

The auction takes place at two Detroit locations. The first site is the Detroit Public Schools Warehouse, 1425 E. Warren Ave., and a second auction will be held at 9800 Mt. Elliott St.
At the DPS Warehouse, bidder registration and additional viewing starts at 9 a.m. and the auction begins at 11 a.m.

On Mt. Elliott, bidder registration opens at 2 p.m. and the auction starts at 3 p.m. Bargain-hunters can get an early look at the full array of motorized merchandise Monday, May 24, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at both locations.

All purchased vehicles are sold “as is” and must be removed by 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 26. Payment is by cash, cashier’s check, money order or company check with a bank Letter of Guarantee. No personal checks, debits or charges are accepted.
