DPS launches Proposal S Web page

Detroit Public Schools has created a Web page to inform citizens about Proposal S, a bond referendum which seeks to take advantage of $500 million in stimulus dollars that President Barack Obama made available to build new schools and modernize existing schools.

The site is www.detroitk12.org/proposalS.

Information contained on the Web page includes town hall dates, a map of where the district’s new and modernized schools would be, details of each project, ballot language, frequently asked questions, a model depiction of how a typical Pre-K-8 school would look, information on how monies were spent from the 1994 bond issue and Proposal S information translated in 5 languages.
