Detroit Public Schools’ teachers and principals are holding Open Houses to display the Great Things Happening behind the doors of the every school.

Beard Early Childhood Center will have a storyteller to read, dance, and perform stories from various genres for all students. Parents can meet teachers and watch them teach a lesson.

At Spain Elementary, parents can meet with the administration and teachers of the school to learn about the school’s exciting programs. Spain’s talented students will then do a tribute to Michael Jackson, where parents will be given a dance production of some of Michael Jackson’s most famous renditions.

At Breithaupt Career and Technical Center, students will partner with their parent or guardian and be given the challenge of building a computer from donated computers that have been disassembled. If a team’s computer starts up at the end of the challenge, they can take the computer home. Students will also showcase Cosmetology, Culinary and other talents.
Media members are invited to attend any of the Open Houses.
