WHAT: The students and teachers at A.L. Homes Elementary School will officially partner with experts at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio when the program is announced at the school. Holmes will become one of only 25 schools in America that have a NASA partner. The three-year program includes funding for the purchase of equipment that allows students to electronically communicate with NASA. At the announcement, Holmes students will view a video of the NASA project and get explanations about a display depicting NASA programs. The focus of the partnership is to help student achievement in the STEM subjects-Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
WHEN: Tuesday, December 18. The students will attend one of two assemblies between 9 and 10:45 a.m. to introduce them to NASA and explain the mechanics of the partnership. They will be available after the second assembly.
