The Detroit Public Schools has won a Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award. The award, which is given by the Association of School Business Officials (ABSO), was presented to the District for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2006.
The judges on the panel that presented the award cited the high quality of the District’s comprehensive annual financial report. The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting program is designed to encourage school business officials to achieve high standards of financial reporting. It is the highest recognition for school district financial operations offered by ABSO. It is bestowed on school systems that have met or exceeded the standards of the program.
