DPS CHESS PROGRAM RECEIVES $20,000 GIFT

February 2, 2007 — In recent years, the Detroit Public Schools chess program has produced scores of national champions. Its ranks include a young man who may be on his way to becoming the youngest Chess Master in Michigan history.

The program received a big boost in the form of a $20,000 check from the Michigan First Credit Union.
