Office of English Language Learners & Global Languages

"When families are involved in their children's education in positive ways, children achieve higher grades and test scores, have better attendance at school, complete more homework, demonstrate positive attitudes and behavior, graduate at higher rates, and have greater enrollment in higher education."

The Office of English Language Learners & Global Languages sponsors the bilingual Family Partnership Program to provide:

  1. A vehicle promoting a viable partnership among bilingual families, the school, and the community.
  2. Leadership skills, bilingual community awareness and advocacy, training for parents on how to help their sons and daughters succeed in school.

Bilingual Parent Network and Training

  • Parent and community outreach & involvement
  • Assist parents in helping their children to improve their academic achievement
  • Collaborate with the Office of Adult Education in providing parents with adult education classes including technology
  • Utilize the Search Institute's Developmental Assets Model as a framework for our work with parents
