MEAP Elementary Science
Grade 5 Teacher/Parent Support Package
The
5th Grade MEAP Science Quick Tip Sheet and the Elementary Science MEAP
Parent Support Package have been written and organized around the strands
of the Michigan Essential Goals and Objectives for Science Education,
the objectives upon which the MEAP test is based. They have been developed
to support schools in reviewing the students' understanding of the skills
and concepts tested on the MEAP. It is recommended that teachers select
items to review based on their schools' Item Analysis from the previous
year. Activities from the Elementary Science Core Curriculum Guide, Grades
3-5, that focus on the seven additional strands for the Science MEAP test
have also been included. A calendar has been developed with activities
that are congruent with the concepts reviewed in class for parents to
reinforce and support their child's academic achievement and performance
on the MEAP.
