The Detroit Allied Health Middle College High School (Middle College) is keeping Detroit Public School’s vision of having every young person complete high school ready for the next steps that lead to a successful life.
The goal of Middle College is to increase student achievement by providing opportunities to participate in a learning environment related to the health sciences in a middle college setting. The Middle College course of study provides opportunities for enrollees to graduate at the end of their 13th year of schooling with a high school diploma, an Associate Degree and training in a marketable health occupation. The instructional program is rigorous and relevant, and focuses simultaneously on the core academics and the health sciences.
The partnership maintains strong ties with the administration of Detroit Public Schools, Wayne County Community College District, the Detroit Medical Center and the surrounding community. Ultimately, students are prepared to meet ever- increasing opportunities in one of eight career fields of the Allied Health Pathway:
